Sunburst Stables offers sessions for girls ages 8 to 15. No prior riding experience is needed. The
bunkhouse is newly renovated, including air conditioning, full baths
and sleeping accommodations for 16 campers.
Campers will enjoy
two daily horseback lessons/rides. Individualized lessons including
riding fundumentals, basic and advanced movements, safety procedures
and control. Jumping is available during advanced weeks. Riding activities
include trail riding, mock polo, scavenger hunts and fun horse games.
Each camper will
have the opportunity to get to know several horses through grooming,
feeding and barn care. This is designed to build self-confidence,
responsibility and personal growth. Our teaching will NOT interfere
with techniques the students my be learning from their current riding
instructor.
A variety of crafts
are offered along with special off-site activities, including hiking,
swimming, tubing, fishing and putt putt golf. Special outings such
as rollerskating, bowling, and an overnight campout fill the evening
hours. NEW: zip-line and ropes course, water skiing.
Sunburst
Stables is located adjacent to the 6,000 acres Chattahoochee
National Forest, including 25 miles of wooded trails, laced with trout
streams, small waterfalls, scenic views and overlooks, picnic areas
and lightly graveled forest service roads.
Any camper
wishing to bring their own horse is encouraged to do so. Additional
board fee is $50 per week. Campers bringing their own horse will be
expected to ride Sunburst horses to provide for confidence building
and variety experience.
Camps run Sunday
through Saturday. Campers are required to check in Sunday between
5 and 6 p.m., before dinner. Pickup is the following Saturday at 10
a.m. The fee is $750 for one week, including room and board. An added
week is only $675. A non refundable deposit of $250.00 is required with registration.
Confirmation, "what to bring" list, liability release and
directions will be sent as soon as the deposit is received. Balance
of fees is due 2 weeks prior to the camp session. After May 1st there
will be no refunds. No refunds are given for late arrivals or early
departures.

We’ve talked about it for years and finally it’s here. Sunburst has added a boys adventure camp.
Sunburst is offering 7 days of adventure to boys only ages 8-15. They will learn skills in shooting, sailing, climbing and horsemanship. Your boys will gain confidence, responsibility and team work. No experience necessary!
Located in the beautiful Blue ridge mountains, Sunburst’s 82 acres is situated in Habersham County, Ga.
Known for our beautiful trail rides and girls horse camp, Sunburst is a unique facility that has it all. 5 ponds for fishing, clay skeet shooting, mountain climbing, ropes course, sailing and kayaking adventures on the 5 lakes which surround us, hiking miles of trails with llama in tow , and throw in a little trail riding and it is a camp made for boys.
Campers learn hunting skills, shooting skills, sailing and kayaking, climbing skills, horsemanship skills, and
Llama trekking.
Campers live in an air conditioned bunkhouse with bathroom facilities. Healthy and delicious meals are enjoyed in our screened-in dining hall. 3 acre pond with water trampoline and blob, climbing wall and ropes course, mini-animal farm, playing field for football, soccer, baseball, volleyball.
We take advantage of the areas rich natural wonders. We are situated with lake Rabun, Seed, Burton, Tallulah and Unicoi all within our reach for a variety of water sports such as swimming, river tubing, kayaking and sailing.
Our evening activities are all off site and include bowling, putt-putt, roller blading, overnight camping trip., and a night ride.
